Jasmine Akter has been working with WARBE as the Information and Documentation Associate. She deals with the media and Public Relations sector of the organisations. One of her many roles include support for development of WARBE strategy for their advocacy work at national, regional and international levels on issues of migrant rights, migration and development.
WARBE or The Welfare Association for the Rights of Bangladeshi Emigrants, is an organisation that deals with returned migrant workers, the organisation aims to strengthen the rights of migrant workers and their families. Jasmine has worked with conducting awareness campaigns and counselling for migrant workers on migrant rights violations issues. Her role is to work on case studies of migrant workers and communicate with staff members of other organisations that strive to do the same.
Jasmine believes that for her to continue to work in the migration sector, she needs to enrich her knowledge and arm herself with the right tools to continue to develop the situation of migrant workers. She believes that DTP will help her grow in her job position as well as help her integrate herself better in the migrant worker community. In doing so Jasmine wishes to further her knowledge and promote awareness for women workers and their rights in the country.
