Business, Human Rights and the SDGs in the Pacific are the focus of DTP’s first online human rights capacity building program. The region has so far contained the COVID-19 pandemic better than any region in the world, but the economic impacts are devastating to a region so affected by the climate emergency. The course, taking place over 4 weeks, emphasises the role of the UN Guiding Principles in helping Pacific governments, their development partners, business and civil society to build back better. There are over 40 participants from 11 Pacific island countries. The course continues a collaboration between DTP, OHCHR, PIANGO, BHRRC and CCF - and the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights - and takes place ahead of the 1st Regional Pacific Forum on Business and Human Rights on December 1st-2nd.
